๐Ÿšš Vehicles (fleet tracking)

See the vans moving your linen on a live map.

The Vehicles page shows your delivery vans on a live map, powered by Yipii GPS trackers. Each vehicle appears as a pin with its speed and how long ago it last reported; the list beside the map lets you click a van to centre the map on it. Positions refresh on their own every 30 seconds.

Connecting it

  1. In the Yipii dashboard open API Access โ†’ Create API Key and copy the key โ€” a long token that starts with eyJโ€ฆ (it's shown only once). Note your Account Key too (it's in the dashboard URL: iot.yipii.io/a/{accountKey}/โ€ฆ).
  2. An administrator opens Settings โ†’ Fleet tracking, pastes the Account Key and the API Key, then clicks Save and Test connection.
  3. Once it says connected, open Vehicles for the map โ€” or Settings โ†’ Vehicle settings to rename a van.

Delivery vehicles โ€” which vans everyone sees

Your Yipii account may track *every* company vehicle โ€” including cars and vans that never touch linen. So each vehicle has a Delivery vehicle tick: it marks the vans that actually move your linen, and it decides who sees which vehicles.

  1. An administrator opens Settings โ†’ Vehicle settings and ticks ๐Ÿ“ฆ Delivery vehicle on each van that carries linen. The tick saves on its own โ€” there is no separate Save button.
  2. That is all. The map does the rest automatically based on who is looking.
  • Administrators and power users see every vehicle. The delivery vans are marked with a ๐Ÿ“ฆ Delivery badge so you can tell them apart at a glance.
  • Everyone else โ€” housekeepers, drivers, ordinary staff โ€” sees only the delivery vehicles. The cars and non-linen vans simply do not appear for them.
  • The Housekeeping app opens the map as a Delivery vans view: it always shows the delivery vehicles only, even for an administrator, because that is all a housekeeper needs.
Tip If a van you expect is missing for your staff but you can see it as an admin, it just hasn't been ticked as a delivery vehicle yet โ€” tick it in Settings โ†’ Vehicle settings. If no van is ticked at all, non-admin staff see an empty map.
Note The API Key is the only credential you need โ€” it is used directly as the access token. If Test connection says the key was rejected, make sure you pasted the long eyJโ€ฆ key (not a password) and that the Account Key matches your dashboard.
Note A van shows on the map as soon as Yipii returns live GPS coordinates for it. While Yipii's live-tracking feed is still in preview it may appear in the list (with its status and last-movement time) before it shows as a pin โ€” the pin lights up automatically once coordinates come through.
Note Fleet tracking and Vehicle settings are admin-only. Nothing else in the app depends on Yipii, so it's completely optional. The delivery-vehicle ticks are stored inside the app, so they keep working even with a read-only Yipii key.
