🔁 Linen swaps — the simple guide
What the blue 🔁 swap tag means, and exactly what to do when you see it.
Some linen is changed on a plan — for example new mattress covers every so often, or extra blankets put out for winter. The app calls this a swap. You do not have to remember it or plan it: the app knows when it is due and shows it to you. Here is what to do, in plain steps.
How you know a swap is due
- The item has a little blue 🔁 swap tag next to its name.
- The apartment shows a 🔁 scheduled linen due label in the list.
- That is all it means: *this item is being changed this time.* You still pack it and count it like any other linen.
It is always ONE bag
The swap linen is always in the same bag as the rest of that apartment’s linen — never a separate bag. So you only ever open and pack one bag per apartment, swap or no swap.
Packing the CLEAN bag
- Open the apartment’s clean bag as normal.
- The new swap items are already in the list, with a 🔁 swap tag.
- Pack them together with everything else, then press Complete.
- The finished green bag then shows the swap items too — nothing is hidden.
Counting the DIRTY bag
- Open the apartment’s dirty bag as normal.
- The old swap items to bring back are in the list, with a 🔁 swap (or 🔒 swap · must collect) tag.
- Put in how many you actually collected — count them like any other linen.
- Press Confirm count, then Send as usual.
Watch out Always count the swap items back. If you leave a swap item empty — or lower than it should be — when you Send, the app counts the ones you did not put in as missing. That is because the new set has already gone out, so the old set is expected back. This is where a surprise “missing” comes from. If the pieces really are there, just count them and nothing shows as missing.
Note A 🔒 lock on a swap item only means the new set has already gone out to the apartment, so the old set must come back. Count it — you cannot remove it.
If you made a mistake
- On the clean side: open the green (completed) bag and press ↩ Reopen. Everything goes back — including the swap — and the swap will simply show again next time.
- On the dirty side: press ↩ Undo swap on the bag. It safely cancels the swap: the new set goes back on the shelf and the collection is cancelled.
- Either way you never lose or double anything — the app puts it all back.
Note The app never fills numbers in for you. You always do the counting. It only marks something “missing” when a bag is Sent with fewer swap pieces than were expected back.
